Mr. Tom Martin
Principal
Tom Martin has been the Principal at Byrd School for the past seven years. Prior to that, he taught physical education in District 111 for twelve years and served as Assistant Principal at Kennedy School. Mr. Martin holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis. Mr. Martin is eager to make the transition to Burbank School and looks forward to getting acquainted with the students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Illinois Sunbucks 2026

Please see the attached Q&A regarding Summer EBT. Burbank School District 111 participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for free meals. Therefore, all households are encouraged to check the IDHS Summer EBT screener to determine if a Summer EBT application may be needed.
PASS After School Care Program

2026-2027 PASS Registration

District 111 offers a comprehensive after-school care program for students in Grades K-7. PASS Program registration for the 2026-27 school year will open on July 7. The link to the registration form will be posted on that day on the PASS Program web page. Please note - all previous outstanding balances for PASS must be paid in full in order to register for 2026-27.

Spelling Champ to Compete at National Spelling Bee

Please join us in celebrating Kirsten C. From Liberty Junior High School. Tonight, she won the 16th Annual ISC Spelling Bee Championship for all of Cook County! She is going to Washington DC in May to compete in the National Spelling Bee! Congrats and best wishes to Kirsten!
