PowerSchool Data Breach

PowerSchool determined that an unauthorized party gained access to certain PowerSchool Student Information System data using a compromised PowerSchool credential. This has impacted over 18,000 PowerSchool districts across the world.

After becoming aware of the incident, PowerSchool immediately took steps to address the issue as well as informed law enforcement of the unauthorized access.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, PowerSchool notified the District of this unauthorized access. The following information about your student is reasonably believed to have been affected: first, middle, and last name, birth date, address, phone number, gender, ethnicity/race, language, school name, school/state student ID numbers, guardian alert, guardian name, enrollment information, lunch waiver information, and student PowerSchool login ID. No passwords, social security numbers, photos, or financial account information were impacted by this incident.

The District remains committed to assessing any potential ramifications of its students who may be affected by the PowerSchool security incident. PowerSchool has indicated a full report is being conducted by an independent third-party and additional information will be released to the District in late January 2025.

If we receive more relevant information from PowerSchool, we will provide another update to our families.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through this matter.
